Guillaume de Moucheron

The baptism of Guillaume de Moucheron, 22 November 1632, Temple Calviniste, La Rochelle, son of Pierre de Moucheron and his wife Marie Jay. His godparents were Guillaume Vanderslat and Magdeline de Moucheron.

as we know, he would later marry Henriette de Court, somewhere between 1651 and 1656 (when they appear in a notarial act already as man and wife).  Guillaume was not married in La Rochelle, at least not in Temple Calviniste, Saint Barthelemy, Notre Dame or Saint Sauveur. The strange thing is that Guillaume was born in La rochelle, and his paternal and maternal ancestors were all of this city from at least before 1609. Guillaume's wife Henriette also seems to be of a La Rochelle family, well before 1630. So why is it we cannot find a marriage for them? I keep hoping someone will come here with access to Charente-Maritime Notarial records from the 1650's and say.. "Yes I will look for their marriage contract".. but that isn't likely. lol

In the mean time, I will try to go about this sideways, examining every record I can to uncover clues.
